BPP Apprenticeships

UX UI Design Digital Design Web Design HTML/CSS

A large university recognised a need to redesign its apprenticeship course section to better meet the needs of its business clients. The university's existing apprenticeship courses had become overly focused on attracting learners and as a result, had become overcrowded, making it difficult for business clients to find the resources and support they needed.

Objective
The university's primary objective was to deter learners from enrolling in its apprenticeship courses and instead, focus on attracting business clients. To achieve this, the university needed to make significant changes to its existing apprenticeship course offerings.

Approach
The university formed a cross-functional team that consisted of faculty members, business representatives, and technology experts to lead the redesign effort. The team conducted a comprehensive review of the university's existing apprenticeship courses, identifying areas that could be improved to better meet the needs of business clients.

Key findings
The team identified several key findings, including:
The university's existing apprenticeship courses were too broad, covering too many topics and not providing enough specialized training to meet the needs of business clients. The university's course offerings were not flexible enough to accommodate the scheduling needs of business clients. The university's course materials were not easily accessible or relevant to business clients. The university was not effectively communicating its apprenticeship courses to business clients, making it difficult for them to find and enroll in the courses that best met their needs.

Redesign Recommendations
Based on these findings, the team made several key recommendations to improve the university's apprenticeship course offerings, including:
Offer specialised apprenticeship courses that focus on specific industry or business needs.
Increase flexibility in course scheduling to accommodate the needs of business clients.
Develop digital course materials that are easily accessible and relevant to business clients.Develop a targeted marketing campaign to better communicate the university's apprenticeship courses to business clients.

BPP International Students

International students are interested in studying in the UK but often face difficulties in navigating the complex university application process. There is a need for a comprehensive resource that provides information about the UK, the university application process, and available support for international students.

Solution
To address this need, a mini-site was created to provide a one-stop-shop for international students wishing to study in the UK. The mini-site offers the following features:

University Finder: An interactive tool that allows students to search for universities agents based on their specific criteria, such as location, subject areas, and language requirements.Application Process: A step-by-step guide to the university application process, including tips on how to prepare a strong application.Support Services: A directory of support services available to international students, including language schools, student housing, and visa support.Student Stories: A section featuring stories from current international students, highlighting their experiences and providing insights into what it’s like to study in the UK.

BPP had two well-established brand identities - one for B2C and one for B2B. In an effort to create a new onboarding experience for students in Africa and Asia, a new approach was needed that would swap the professional approach for a more inviting, conversational look and feel.

Since its launch, the mini-site has become a popular resource for international students seeking to study in the UK. The application process guide has made the application process much easier to understand. As a result, international student applications to UK universities have increased, demonstrating the success of the mini-site in achieving its goal of making the UK a more accessible and welcoming destination for international students.
